Who is the Kreuzberger Musikalische Aktion e.v. (KMA)?
Since it's founding in 1987, the KMA has connected with children and teenagers through rock music, hip-hop and breakdancing. We strive to increase their creativity and self-confidence, while encouraging an interest in pursuing new learning opportunities.
What moves us
The youth of our society experience challenges and problems, which are often viewed as secondary to those of adults. With our projects and daily offerings we aim to empower these children and teenagers through the discovery and development of new interests and skills.
What we do
Through our music and multimedia projects we encourage our participants to develop media literacy as well as personal and social competence, with a focus in multicultural interaction and social and cultural integration. We work actively against racism, xenophobia, discrimination and violence. Since 1994 we've organized events and activities integrating school classes, youth groups from churches, and youth clubs in Brandenburg with groups of Berlin children and teenagers with varying background of immigration. We strive for equal opportunity, such that all young members of our community are provided with a chance to succeed in the training and job market. Our workshops and projects aim to motivate the youth and unemployed participants, while providing qualifications for future employment.
Who we are
The Kreuzberger Musikalische Aktion e.V. is a charitable initiative, recognized for supporting the children and youth of our society through free programs, activities, and workshops. Artists, social workers, teachers and professionals from a variety of other backgrounds founded KMA, with the goal of preventing violence, youth crime, drug addiction and sexual abuse among young people.
